Our Story
We are part of a global mission movement called “Youth With A Mission”. YWAM Yilan began as a God-given dream in 2014, where YWAM Montana and YWAM Taipei partnered together to pioneer three new locations in the least reached parts of Taiwan. That very vision came to fruition in 2017, as a team of ten individuals from five different nations moved from their comfort zones to see this ministry born in Yilan, Taiwan.
Our Vision & Mission
We exist to use surfing as bridge to evangelize and disciple surf community in Yilan, and impact surf communities in Asia with God’s love. In moving to Yilan we believe God has given us a vision to see a community center built to reach the surfing community. The center will consist of a skate park, a coffee shop and training classrooms. It will serve as our base to run disciple training programs and a place where people can come explore the value of oneself through the Bible.

We are passionate about equipping young people to serve and meet the needs in rural regions, and calling volunteers from Taiwan and from all over the world to participate in this work, as they committed to their calling from God. We encourage staff to dedicate their time to learn the local language in order to communicate better as they serve.
